Svanda's Pharmacy
_The legacy of Svanda's Pharmacy goes back over 87 years. Robert R.
Svanda became a pharmacist in 1924 when he worked for J.L. Mostick. In
1944, Robert sold his house and car in order to purchase what we know
today as Svanda's Pharmacy. At that time, the store was more like a
general store with a pharmacy. When Robert's son, Robert M. Svanda,
became a pharmacist in 1953, he returned to Ravenna and operated Robbins
Drug Store. In 1962, the Robbins location was sold and the father and
son duo consolidated stores. Bob's daughter, Sheryl Perry, graduated
from the Nebraska Medical Center in 1977 and joined her father and
grandfather in the family business. Along with Bob and Cher, current
employees are Jean Luth, pharmacy tech, Pharmacist Amanda Luth, who
graduated from Creighton University in May 2010, Pat Standage, Lacey
Rager, pharmacy tech, and Candy Miigerl.
