The City of Ravenna

signAccording to the 2020 Census, the City of Ravenna has a population of 1,441 residents, which classifies it in the state of Nebraska as a city of second class (populations between 800 and 5000 residents). A mayor and council form of government is elected by popular vote at large. City Council members serve staggered four-year terms.

The City of Ravenna is continuing to look towards the future with our recent completion of the 2023 Comprehensive Plan and several projects underway. Whether it's the nation’s first tied archway expansion bridge (complete in 2006) or City Hall’s exploration of projects to enhance the quality of life for residents, our local elected officials and employees are dedicated to serve the community they love.

City Hall houses the City Council Chambers, the office of the Mayor and City Clerk, the Utility Billing Department, the Police Department, and a Maintenance Shop. The Police Department Office has recently been remodeled and updated with state-of-the-art equipment to help serve and protect residents of Ravenna and the surrounding area.

On December 16, 2016, Ravenna became the tenth city in the state of Nebraska to become a Leadership Certified Community. The Department of Economic Development awarded the City this prestigious certification.
